Members

Our members are a coalition of key regional stakeholders with the combined influence to make meaningful change. Members are required to set their own publicly stated goal related to transportation electrification and report progress. Founding members have either set or are in the process of setting such goals.

Our partnership model leverages the strengths of both Practitioners (organizations allocating capital to transportation electrification) and Supporting Partners (community groups and subject matter experts shaping our commitments).

Practitioners

srp-3

Salt River Project

As part of its 2035 Sustainability Goals, SRP has committed to support the enablement of 500,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in SRP’s service territory and manage 90% of EV charging through price plans, dispatchable load management, original equipment manufacturer integration, connected smart homes, behavioral and other emerging programs.

As a community-based not-for-profit water and energy company, SRP provides reliable, affordable water and power to more than 2 million people living in central Arizona. SRP has provided these essential resources for more than a century to meet the needs of customers and help the region grow. SRP is a founding member of the TE Activator.

city-of-phoenix-1

Phoenix

The City of Phoenix is committed to rapidly accelerating electric vehicle adoption in the community and expanding public EV charging infrastructure, targeting 50% of all vehicle sales being electric vehicles and 500 charging ports on city properties by 2030. Furthermore, the City is transitioning its fleet to be 100% powered by alternative fuels, including electricity, and increasing investments in low-carbon public transit to reduce vehicle miles traveled.

The City of Phoenix's 2021 Climate Action Plan creates an actionable framework for growth and development while building an equitable, and resilient city. Transportation electrification is a core component of Phoenix’s path towards its ambitious 2030 and 2050 Sustainability goals. Phoenix is a founding member of the TE Activator.

MESA-AZ_GREEN-3

Mesa

Mesa is committed to transitioning its fleet to electric and alternative low-emission fuel vehicles in support of its goal to reduce the carbon footprint of City Operations by 50% by 2030. The city is in the process of developing community transportation electrification targets as part of its Community-wide Climate Action Plan, to be published within the next year.

As one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, the City of Mesa is committed to proactively and responsibly protecting and conserving Mesa’s environment and natural resources, ensuring the city may continue to be vibrant, prosperous, and thriving for generations to come. The City of Mesa is a founding member of the TE Activator.

TEMPE

Tempe

Tempe plans to double the number of charging stations throughout the community by 2025, compared to its 2019 baseline.  The City of Tempe is developing additional transportation electrification targets within the next 11 months, in conjunction with a Fleet Electrification Master Plan and a Community Electric Vehicle Roadmap.  Tempe is also in the process of updating its Climate Action Plan, while continuing other transportation sector investments aimed at reducing vehicle miles traveled.

The City of Tempe is dedicated to growing a sustainable city alongside community stakeholders to be resilient for our future. Tempe is taking action to reduce emissions and cultivate resilience by focusing on the guiding principles of fiscal responsibility, enterprise, equity, engagement, and effectiveness. Southwest Energy Efficiency Project

Compared to gasoline-fueled vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs) use much less energy, can be powered by locally produced clean energy (as opposed to imported oil), can significantly improve local air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and dramatically reduce fuel costs.  For these and other reasons, SWEEP works to promote the increased adoption of EVs across the Southwest.

The Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) is a public-interest organization promoting greater energy efficiency and clean transportation throughout the Southwest, including Arizona. SWEEP’s Transportation Program advances state and regional policies that will promote the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce vehicle miles traveled.
